Gompu’s, situated in the heart of Kalimpong town is one of the oldest business establishments in Kalimpong. It was founded around 1926 by the late Mr. Gompu Tshering , one of the early Tibetan settlers in Kalimpong. Gompu’s then, was a boarding house, with a confectionery and a bar. By the time of the Second World War, Gompu’s was frequented regularly by the local gentry as well as the wounded Allied soldiers, who were brought from the Burmese front to convalesce in Kalimpong and the surrounding hills of Darjeeling. Gompu’s has just recently been fully renovated and is presently owned and managed by the third generation of the family.Located in the heart of town Gompu’s offers 14 well furnished rooms with running hot and cold water and cable television connection in each room
